In this policy, we lay out what data we collect from you and why, how your data is handled and your rights to your data. We will never sell your data.
If you use our game analytics service as a customer of WASD Metrics, read further for details on the information we do collect about your game's players on your behalf.
As a player of games, that use the WASD Metrics game analytics service
We do not track the player (you) accross your devices and accross the games you play and accross the websites you visit. There is no way to know for us whether you play a game from more than one device.
The goal of WASD Metrics is to track overall trends of the usage of games, it is not to track individual players.
All the usage data collected from games using WASD Metrics is aggregated and can't be used to identify individual players.
During a play session, several events will be sent to the WASD Metrics service together with non-personal meta information. This information includes:
- a random, non-personal player identifier,
- a random, non-personal session identifier,
- your country,
- your device's operating system (iOS / Android, etc.), its version, time zone and language,
- your device's type and width in pixels,
- information specific to the tracking event (e.g. a level number, a score, the name of a purchased item) and
- information about the WASD Metrics tracking client
We look up your country using your IP address. We do not track anything more granular than the country of origin. Your IP address is discarded and we never store IP addresses in our databases or logs.
How we count unique players without personal data
We generate a random player identifier on your device during the first launch of the game. This identifier is completely random and contains no personal data. We make sure, that this identifier is stored on the device where all the game's data is stored, so that it gets deleted, should the player uninstall the game. This identifier is used to count the unique number of players of a game.
WASD Metrics does not and will never access a device's unique advertising identifier.
How we count unique sessions without personal data
We also generate a random session indentifier each time you start the game. This session identifier is also completely random and contains no personal information. It is used to track how often and how long players play a game and other statistical, non-personal trends.

We run our own analytics script to collect some anonymous usage data for statistical purposes. The goal is to track overall trends in our website traffic, it is not to track individual visitors. All the data is aggregated and can't be used to identify individual visitors.

- websites that send us traffic,
- UTM parameters (explained here),
- pages on our site that are visited and
- information from the devices: device type (mobile/desktop), display width, page load time, time zone, operating system, country and browser

Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need and that we will solely process this information to provide you with the service you signed up for.
We use a select number of trusted external service providers for certain service offerings. These service providers are carefully selected and meet high data protection, data privacy and security standards.
We only share information with them that is required for the services offered and we contractually bind them to keep any information we share with them as confidential and to process personal data only according to our instructions.
Here’s what that means in practice:
What we collect and what we use it for

- A name is also required to create an account. This name is solely used to personalize emails we might send you.
- A persistent first-party cookie is stored to remember you’re logged in. If you log in to your WASD Metrics account, you give us permission to use cookies so you don’t have to log in on each returning session. This makes it easier for you to use our product. A cookie is a piece of text stored by your browser. You can adjust cookie retention settings in your own browser. Cookies that are already stored may be deleted at any time.
- The payment process is handled by a third-party payment provider. If you choose to upgrade to a WASD Metrics paid plan, the billing information and the payment process is handled by Stripe. See the Stripe Privacy Policy for full details.
- All emails are sent using a third-party email provider. Transactional emails and email reports (should you choose to subscribe to them) are sent using Amazon Simple Email Service. There is no kind of tracking enabled on all emails sent. See the AWS Privacy Policy for full details.
- When you write to us with a question or to ask for help. We keep that correspondence, which includes the email address, so that we have a history of past correspondences to reference if you reach out in the future. We use this data solely in connection with answering the queries we receive.
Retention of data
We will retain your information as long as your account is active, as necessary to provide you with the services or as otherwise set forth in this policy.
We will also retain and use this information as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy and to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and protect WASD Metric’s legal rights.
You can choose to delete your WASD Metrics account at any time. All your data will be permanently deleted immediately when you delete your account.
